Plastic Core Cementing Plugs-Bottom
A cementing plug is used to separate the cement slurry from other fluids, reducing contamination and maintaining predictable slurry performance. Typically, two types of cementing plugs are used on a cementing operation.
Cementing plugs supplied by Astarn Engineering & Oilfield Supplies are consisting of phenolic or ebonite insert molded with elastomer. This allows the drill bit to fracture the ebonite rather than tear the rubber and aluminum as with a conventional plug thus reducing the drill out time significantly. No metal parts are used in the Plastic Core Cementing Plugs, thus therefore the plugs are PDC drillable. ASTARN Conventional Cementing plugs are available in NR, SBR, NBR, and HNBR grades.
Cementing plugs from Astarn Engineering & Oilfield Supplies are constructed with selective materials resulting in reduce drill-out time, and thereby cost savings. Our Cementing plug sizes are available in 4-1/2”, 5”, 5-1/2”, 7”,7-5/8”, 9-5/8”, 10-3/4”, 13-3/8”.
