Cementing Bottom Plug

A cementing plug is used to separate the cement slurry from other fluids, reducing contamination and maintaining predictable slurry performance. Typically two types of cementing plugs are used on a cementing operation.

The bottom plug is launched ahead of the cement slurry to minimize contamination by fluids inside the casing prior to cementing. A centrally located diaphragm in the plug body ruptures to allow the cement slurry to pass through after the plug reaches the landing collar.

Cementing plugs from Continental Supply Services are constructed by the selective materials resulting reduce the drill out time, and there-by cost savings. Our Cementing plug sizes are available in 4-1/2”, 5”, 5-1/2”, 7”,7-5/8”, 9-5/8”, 10-3/4”, 13-3/8”.
