Cementing Top Plug

A cementing plug is used to separate the cement slurry from other fluids, reducing contamination and maintaining predictable slurry performance. Typically, two types of cementing plugs are used on a cementing operation.

Top plug is used as a follow plug to displace the cement and land on the upper end of the bottom plug. The top plug has a solid body that provides a positive indication of contact with the landing collar and bottom plug through an increase in pump pressure.

Cementing plugs from Continental Supply Services are constructed by the selective materials resulting reduce the drill out time, and there-by cost savings. Our Cementing plug sizes are available in 4-1/2”, 5”, 5-1/2”, 7”,7-5/8”, 9-5/8”, 10-3/4”, 13-3/8”
